Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
As far as the double vision, I know anxiety can and has messed with my vision on more than 1 occasion. Our nerves can play a lot of tricks on us. Anxiety can cause a lot of symptoms and it varies from person to person. Let your Dr. know how the Ativan made you feel and maybe he can give you something else.
Get some books on anxiety and learn skills to cope with it. It will help tremendously.
Good luck!
I'm not offended or anything.
Are you getting enough sleep ? I know when I was not getting more than 3 hours a night my vision messed with me horribly.
I just dont know why i have really bad double vision.
Could be from the meds i was on.
I wouldn't mess around with double vision. I think you should see an eye doctor about it ASAP. Have you had any medication changes that could be causing the double vision? Or any trauma? My father had double vision after being in an ATV accident. His eye had been slightly pushed into the eye socket by the accident. It required surgery.
I used to have the brain tumor fear you have until someone I know actually got a brain tumor and I saw the real symptoms and disease. (It was my best friend's father.) Can you do the things that you think? That is, if you think "Lift arm," can you lift your arm? Someone who has a brain tumor has problems coordinating the body and brain. If you can use a keyboard and type a complete sentence that others can read and comprehend, you most likely do not have a brain tumor.
Perhaps this sounds weird, but maybe you should seek someone who has a brain tumor -- if that's a constant fear of yours -- and confront and learn about the disease. Perhaps, like me, you'll learn that the symptoms that you have are not the symptoms of a real brain tumor. Confronting your fear is a good way to conquer it. :)
Regarding your comment about Ativan...I completely understand. I think it's ok for you to say that it made you feel like killing yourself. I have had some bad reactions to anxiety/depression medications and wanted to die too. And I mean I seriously wanted to die because I felt so tortured. It's good that you recognize the Ativan is not working for you. It means you are aware and in tune with your body. You should talk to your doctor about trying something different. I went thru a parade of medications until I found the right ones that work for me.
I hope you can get an answer and cure for your double vision.
