Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I have been on Klonopin for a very long time - 2 mg. 3x a day - and it is only now wearing-off after 15 years of this dose - I tried lowering the dose a few times, but I have an extremely intense panic problem (I used to have back-to-back panic attacks to the point where I couldn't even sit down..) - so I stayed on this dose.
I am presently on 2mg. of Klonopin 2x a day, with Zoloft as a substitute for the afternoon Klonopin dose. I feel mildly uncomfortable some days, but I expected much worse (in lowering the dose of Klonopin.) My feeling is that it is better to go on the lowest dose of the benzo category of medication possible, but if you still feel anxiety or panic - and your "burning anxiety" sounds pretty bad - it might be good to raise the dosage of Klonopin. I am very grateful to Klonopin for giving me 15 completely panic-free years, after suffering for so long.
Getting massages will help your body relax. So will doing yoga and progressive muscle relaxation. I do PMR every night but started out doing it twice a day. Hot baths in Epsom salts will also relax your muscles.
Do you take a Magnesium supplement? It can help muscle tension and anxiety. Eating foods high in Magnesium will help too (banannas, potatoes, whole grains, kidney beans, etc.)
I have anxiety attacks too, especially when i get out of my safe place (home). I'm not someone that likes to take medication, but sometimes you don't have a choice. I do take alot now but am trying to get off some. I have diabeties, high blood pressure, and gout. To much for me to handle at times.
I feel for you because I know what it is like to have an axiety attack, but sometimes these meds can cause more problems. I would talk to your doctor first. Or if you want to sick it start with a half dose and keep breaking it down. Just a suggestion.
Have a great day, Diane
