Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Today I feel low and tired! I had an anxiety attack yesterday I think I am still exhuasted by it. Does anyone ever feel that anxiety really stops you from doing what you need to do/ want to do? I have a lot on my to do list today but I just dont feel unmotivated and I feel like im constantly in a slump. And whenever I look at the time, and i think about what I need to do but havent done yet I feel overwhelmed and sad. And I feel confused by it because I cant stop thinking that maybe I am lazy yet I dont feel like getting up... I am just wondering if thats a symptom of anxiety? or whether thats just me :S?
and if anyone knows a way (any advice) to get out of this funk Id appreciate it!

Ice passed away in February at 17yrs old. She collasped one day and that was it. I am still crying. I miss her so, so much.I miss the smell of her paws, playing with her scruffy beard, listening to her bark in her sleep, the way she nudges my hand with her nose during our walks. I see her everywhere. In my car, at the door, under my desk, the neighborhood. I want to hold her and kiss her so...

I lost my dog last July to cancer, as some of you might remember. It was devastating and I got very depressed, but through treatment I got back to "my normal" last month. I've been poking around the rescue sites to adopt a dog and I've seen a few since July and I visited them but decided I wasn't ready. I actually adopted one in September but realized I was too depressed and it was a mistake so I...

I can't comment on the anxiety aspect as I don't know enough about it to give advice on how to manage it, however I can say this:
When I have days where I feel overwhelmed by life, or if something stressful/traumatic has recently happened, I absolutely find myself sitting on the sofa in my bath robe barely motivated to change the channel on the tv, let alone to get up and do the 101 things that always seem to need doing.
I find that, for me at least, its best if I simply allow myself to feel like that for the day. I declare it a write off, eat what I want, watch what I want, nap if I feel tired etc, and allow myself that time to recover and realign my thoughts and feelings.
Most of the time, after a day like that and (hopefully) a decent night's sleep, I feel more like myself the next day and feel a bit more motivated to get up and keep going.
I hope this helps in some way, or at least makes you feel that you're in good company x
I am so sorry about your anxiety attack. ((hugs)) I have dealt with those off an on due to PTSD. It is pretty common to be very tired and unmotivated for even a couple of days after an extreme attack. Figure your body was running on very high adrenaline so it as if you were doing a great deal of running in addition to the stress affects on the brain and extremely tight muscles etc. Thus, afterwards the body feels drained and the mind almost numb.
My heart goes out to you! I hope they become less with time. Do you have a couple of trusted friends you can call even in the middle of the night if need be? I found during my scariest period of time-that just knowing that there was someone at the end of a phone line was comforting and I rarely actually called at crazy hours. Also, I agree with another post here, that if you do not have a child in the home, just get out of the house somehow -if its the middle of the night maybe go to an all night gym, and during the day walk outside...:) Do you have any anti-anxiety meds you can take when you feel s strong attack coming on? Id o not take anything now, but after a couple of traumatic events I did use them briefly and it really helped!
Much love!! <3
