I take ativan but do not get the shakes. However, the morning are worse for me with my anxiety so I feel more anxious and shaky in the morning. Have you ever felt that way when you don't take the ativan?

I take ativan, but not regularly, only as needed.
I've never had the shakes, that I recall. The only thing I notice is that my memory is bad the next day - I have trouble finding words, that kind of thing. This is frustrating for me since I am a writer.

I also have 5mg tablets, but I've started cutting them in half. That seems to help with the memory issue.
You should probably ask your doctor about it. Maybe it is related to one of the other drugs.

I have taken Ativan before, it left me shaking, and it cut my breathing down really low, hard to breath. Sure, it made me feel like I was drunk but, the side effect if made me hard to breath if I did anything other than walk slowly. I was not able to raise my voice or argue with anyone. I could not even think of anything, my mind went blank with it. I was living in an abnormal world of reality during my stay on Ativan. That was how it affected me personally......

I have never taken Ativan but have taken clonopin and recently
she sopped int and put me on buspar andit it has made
me really sick. I am seeing her next Tuesday to ask her if she
will give me somthing different for anxiety -a little clonopin
or something to help me with anxiety -no sleep for
days- I am sick from not having it -I am not a substance abuser-

Ativan is actualy a very weak Benzo, but the shakes you get is a side effect ( Most likely ) i had the same thing when i 1st started taking Klonopin its a combination of Anxiety coming out and a side effect from that med However? you can self experament with it i would take it "ONLY" before bed and with FOOD !!!
some people need to take these types of meds on a full stomach Drs dont tell ya that or try cutting your Pill in 1/2 lower dose for a week then increase it as well as i did seem'd to work for me that way

i take ativan 3 times a day its 1mg .i was took my my doc i cant take any antacids with alot of pills for anxiety if i was u i would check in to it and cann my doc

I don't take ativan, but I do take xanax. I agree, that maybe you should just try cutting your dose in half. I get .5 mg of xanax and my doctor told me to take a half a pill four times a day. If I take half a pill even once a day, I get so tired, and can't stay awake. I started just taking a quarter of one, and if that doesn't seem to work, later in the day I will take another quarter of one. If that doesn't seem to work, I would talk to your doctor and see about getting a different benzo. I was in the hospital one evening because I had really bad heart palpatations and the doctor gave me ativan and I don't even remember the rest of the night. It calmed me down, but it also made me brain dead haha I did not like it at all, but xanax works wonders for me!
