What helps is Klonopin 2x a day as it is prescribed to me, a Xanax PRN in case of emergency, yoga and journaling. It's possible you need to change your anti-anxiety med if the one that you're taking isn't helping.
Loud sounds and messy things are awful,l I agree.
Go turn the radio on, or the telly. Listen to some music. Go out, meet people for coffee. Go to the swimming pool with the toddler. Make some noise. Reconnect with reality. Go to the kindergarten and shove your hands in the play dough.
Pills are all very well, but actually going for a bush walk would help more. Getting your body touching things, getting your mind active. Having to say hello to people.
Kindy is a wonderful place to have anxiety, because you can play with the kids and nobody thinks that's insane or spaced out, they just think you're being a mum. But meanwhile you're interacting on a non-threatening level with the worlds least judgmental people.
Go to kindy. Spend a couple of hours doing water play. :D See if you're still so spaced out after that.
It may be possible your medication isn't working out. I recently weaned off of lexapro for my depression and anxiety. I also have haphephobia so physical contact is also a bad trigger for me. You might want to consider having a word with your doctor.
