Take care
Lucky- Thank you, think about it in that way, that I am in control, calms my nerves a little bit. Also it might be a good idea for me to meet the doctor at an appointment ahead of time, that probably would help me.
hypergal- I think I too would want to know exactly what is going on. I like to have answers...nothing left a mystery.
grammybear- Talking about other things that you are comfortable with sounds like a good idea. I guess that would probably let your mind be more distracted and not focusing on what's making you uncomfortable. I definitely would not want to see a male gynecologist. I think I would be SO much more uncomfortable with a male. Personally, I find it easier to be open with female doctors so I would be WAY more likely to ask any questions I had or talk to that doctor about things with a female.
What I'm understanding overall is that I should just tell the doctor that I have GAD and that I'm very nervous. Even that makes me nervous because I don't really like talking about my anxiety, but I guess it is important to do so that the doctor can understand how I am feeling and help me relax the best she can. I know I'll be ok, it's just going to be an uncomfortable experience for me.
