Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

current events have me on an agitation curve which has risen to a point of needing remediation. the political/cultural current events have seemed gnarlier than usual since the global shutdown, but? ? ? nothing new there. plying therapy tools. business as usual, iced with a few extra blasts from everybody's favorite game show host (trump).
methinks the general agitation of daylight savings time, trumpet blasts, inflation, etc., are bleeding into the personal currents. school bus incidents are feeling like terrorist attacks. 6 year old kitchen messes feel like unbearable chaos. free range chickens pooping on the porch feel like microbial omens of another maskite invasion. etcetera, etceteri until my intrusive thoughts have cycled all the way back to the frightened mini-me sobbing in the back of a closet.
i have heard rumors that venting helps. here i am, giving it a whirl to see how she twirls.
just venting?

I try to separate or detach with all the current news stuff. I only watch news that isn't selling fear or hate. Hate this politician! Fear, fear, fear, the president is doing X or Y and it will be the end of the world. Listen for the selling of hate or fear and change the dang channel.
I've noticed that if we just wait a few days, the whole political stuff in the world changes. I've also noticed if I watch the fear selling or hate news, then my anxiety is high.
somewhere in the last election i had to ask, "who is kamala harris?" the answer made me wonder if i had detached too far from the current news stuff. i still can't bear the thought of watching the news, but i have been nudging myself to keep up a bit more through my own internet sources. i still can't handle the daily intake i was ingesting back in the 70/80's but at least i know who the vice president is this term.
total agreement on the fear mongering network newscasters use to keep their ratings up. just the sight of a televised talking head gives me an anxiety boost i could live without. even the talk shows and commentators.
Diamond painting helps me. I have to concentrate on
what I'm doing. I just finished a picture of an Owl sitting on a
branch with a full moon in back of him.
misery do love company, mel.
i'm green with envy, tired. diamond painting sounds like just the medicine i need, but i bet the kids would have it spread over the house and beyond in no time flat.
sigh. . . gnarl, gnarl, gnash, gnash. . .
I just do not know.
