Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Keep in mind that anxiety is as vast as our imagination. It has an endless supply of creativity at its disposal. AND... worst part is that it knows exactly what will control us. It uses this "inside" information along with the creativity to create our worst fears. Scenarios that affect us on a deep emotional level with fear.
Learn cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and create recovery for yourself. It is possible. You can recover.
You are not alone; I also struggle with health-related anxiety and triggers.
I have been going through medical treatments for most of my life, and have seen countless doctors. Each treatment ended horribly even though my medical condition isn't very hard to treat (my first doctor messed up badly, so I've been getting "reconstructive" treatments since then). In fact, my latest treatment is the main cause of my trauma, which I am still dealing with after a whole year. Right now, I have decided that there's no need for me to see doctors anymore, especially because all the anxiety and pain I went through isn't worth it anymore. It wasn't too hard for me to make this decision because I don't have a life-threatening medical condition-----so for those who do have a serious medical condition, please don't read my "story" and automatically think that you're better off without doctors.....this decision is specific to my circumstances and may not be the best for you.
As a result of my experiences with doctors, I've developed really bad trust issues in everyday life. It's now harder for me to find a good doctor I trust. It's been hard for me to find a therapist/psychologist, too. When we get sick, people tell us to go see a doctor, right? But through my experiences, seeing a doctor didn't always fix the problem; sometimes it even made it worse. That's a fear I've been struggling with.
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one dealing with health-related anxiety and triggers. I'm sorry you have to deal with all this. Hope my story helps :)
Good luck!
When I go to a female doctor I have medium level anxiety episodes and it takes me the rest of the day to recover. If it's a male doctor,on the other hand I end up have full blown PTSD episode(the ONLY time it's slightly moderated is if I remember to take two nerve pills before going, unfortunately I don't always remember because when I go I'm already a nervous wreck and seeing a male doctor sends me right over the edge I'm teetering on)and it takes me any where from a week to two weeks to recover physically. Mentally and emotionally it takes me longer to recover and become stable again. I,usually, have to double my nerve medication for the first two weeks after.
I,also, have TMJ(a jaw disorder). Mine is SO severe that I don't go to dentists AT ALL!! So I sympathize with you in the dental area as well.
I hope things get better for you soon!
