If I had a patient that showed 130 on a glucose test I wouldn't worry at all - ESPECIALLY bc they had just chugged sugary chocolate milk!! (YUMMM!! I LUV Publix brand! =p
and - your Dr. is right on target - she obviously isn't so worried and asked you to come back in a few weeks to test it firmly. You will probably be asked to eat nothing after midnight the day before so you will have nothing for at least 12 hrs. Then she will see a better picture - but in the meantime no real reason to get upset or anxious.
The older limit parameters for ''normal'' blood sugar was about 124/125 - nowadays they have lowered the limits bc of so many ppl undiagnosed just walking around diabetic without knowing it!! (usually related to being too heavy) So they lowered the ''limit parameters'' to catch more ppl that were previously going undiagnosed.
All that said, a random glucose test of 130 can be a sign that ur insulin is acting up - BUT MOST LIKELY does NOT mean that it IS! Not by any stretch of the imagination at all Erica!!.
THE thing to know is THIS --- that shortly after eating, glucose levels may rise - AND - even in non-diabetics, may temporarily spike up to 140 mg/dL! (& sometimes - maybe even alittle higher - especially if the spike is riding on a big sugary yummy wave of chocolate milk!!)

If its really bothering you - then be proactive against it! Call a friend that deals with blood sugar problems and ask if they have a spare meter to lend - or would be willing to lend u theirs for 24 hrs., then take your blood sugar before and after every meal and record the numbers.
Check it at one hour after eating your first bite - then again at 90 mins. - then again at 2 hours, as this will give you the most accurate readings. Usually your "spiking" will happen shortly after you eat.
In the end, u might wanna look into Silk brand chocolate milk. Its not made with refined sugar so it doesn't "spike" so hard in the body - also - look into Coconut Palm Sugar for ur coffee or teas or whatnot - it is a GREAT natural sugar!!! Amazon carries a nice brand called Sweet Tree - but look for the courser type granules.
Oh - and FYI - Silk is soy based and some ppl cannot tolerate soy as it aggravates some conditions - and some Dr.s actually do not want their male (and SOME female) patients to drink or eat soy (something about the estrogenic properties)
Sooooo - all in all - don't sweat the 130 reading! Anxiety can be a mean machine and make EVERYTHING WORSE! I used to take Tranxene 7.5mg as needed for mine, and now my sister takes it. It has been a MIRACLE MED for her!!
Well - hope this helped Erica!
Hugs! =D
