If/when you go to the doctor, let them know that you have very high levels of anxiety and the visit is very tough for you. (You may want to do it on the phone prior to the appointment.) Most likely they'll appreciate the heads-up and will treat you accordingly.

I am scared of having invasive studies done and the waiting time for the results make me more anxious.

I appreciate your response. I agree with your statement, "I guess a possibility is that my anxiety is causing all of this." When I suffered from extreme anxiety, it created severe stress. That stress was so strong, it actually halted my body's normal female functions. I didn't get my first cycle till I was 29. The whole thing created tension in my relationships, especially with my mom, and that created even more stress! So yes, I understand what you're going through. But I believe you already know what the root of the problem is, and you stated it to boot :) So, the question is, who can you speak to, to help you overcome the anxiety?
