Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that distorts your perception of real vs unreal. Auditory hallucinations and disorganized thinking are pretty classic symptoms. IF you have it, it seems to gravitate to paranoid schizophrenia. Except the threats from your ex are real, and a normal person might act in the same way.
Talk with your doctor. Maybe you're on meds in which this is a side effect. But it really seems like you are just scared and very traumatized.
I hope things get better, and you achieve happiness in your life. Hang in there!
Sometimes when we have an anxiety episode it mnakes us feel out of control, confused and a sense that things are falling apart. This relaxation technique will help you feel focused and grounded.
Find a comfortable place to sit. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Close your eyes. Try to relax those shoulders and your neck. Bring those shoulders down. Now let your arms relax to the side of you. Let your breathing be slow and relaxed. Now imagine the biggest strongest widest tallest tree . See it. Imagine that you are that tree your body is the trunk is is wide and sturdy and so strong, your arms are the branches, they are thick and so strong , your feet and legs are the roots. You know the trees that you have see where the roots are so big they tear up sidewalks anmd they extend far and wide. imagine your roots going for miles and miles and deep and deeper into the earth. Tieing arouned boulders and building. You feel srong and confident. Your body is anchored, You feel solid and grounded. you are able to handle any stress that comes your way. Feel the strength and stability in your arms and legs. You feel confident and relaxed and able to handle any situatuon.
If you feel like you are in crisis then do something about it, call the crisis center. that is what they are there for. An
AN ANXIOUS MIND CANNOT EXIST IN A RELAXED BODY!! so thinks of ways that really relax your body: yoga, relaxation exercises, a bath, sex,
Another relaxation exercise that works for me is startt by lying down, try to slow your brathing down but don't worry about it, if you can't you can't, it will come, focus on your toes and tense them up for five seconds and count outloud 1 one thousanbd two onethousand etc, then relax then counting, Then go on to your ankle, your shoin, your knee, etc. Even your dface , tigheten your face up and relax it, every part. The once you calm yourself down pat yourself on the back. Because you are capable of calming yourself down. You can use this anytime as many times as you want. It is another tool under your belt.
List the positive in your life-every single day. May start off with fivce things. Anything from the warth of the coffee cup to the beautiful weather to you got yourself in a comfortable situation, to you did call the doctor and did something.
Speak to yourself as you would a childe or a friend. What would you tell a friend: I am here for you, everything will be alright, we will work on this, let's get out of here, lets watch a fuuny movie and get your mind off of this
Seek humor: get yourself to smile. look upo jokes o the internet!
Socialize:P Invite someone over or go out for lunch or just call someone- an old friend , grandma ? aybody?
Stgart a hobby -maybe two or three. So when you are feeling bad, sad, blah, you have something else to focus on andyou will be using a fifferent part of the brain and this will give you a sense of calm. I started scrapbooking, and drawing,
When you mind is giving you a hard time do a soduko puzzle , crossword even a computer game something that challenges your mind-again using a different part of your mind.
Journal -get it out. Especially the abuse and know that you are a lot smarter, a lot stronger today than yesterday. You know what to look for in a person and that can never happen again. He was the sick, mannipulitive person not you.
I hope some of these techniques help.
You are not schizo- You will not become schizo. PTSD will not lead to schizo. If you need more reassurance ask your doctor. You can scare yourself so mush and imagine hearing sounds and images but that is not schizo. S
i can not live like this anymore! i dont want to live anymore! im so terrified of having schizophrenia or being misdiagnosed with it rather than having PTSD!! i hate my ex, and im extremely scared of him wanting to kiill me....god am i delusional? do i really not have ptsd instead have schizophrenia????? im seriously thinking im hearing things(in my mind not like theyre really there)that arent there, am i crazy?? i just want the pain to all go away....just want it to stop.....Im so terrified. :( :( I know i am all over the place, but, im really scared. Can someone with schizophrenia also have PTSD and vice versa.... My ex boyfriend abused me for a year and told me he ******* hated me and would kill me if he could, which is why im afraid of him actually doing it.... im so scared please help :(
A psychiatrist told me once that people who worry about going crazy never do, the one's who are really mentally ill don't know it. Anxiety feeds on itself and at some point in time, you need to put your foot down and stop the cycle. I'd suggest some mild medication until you get your thoughts under control. I ran from medication my entire life until I just had to have some relief. I suffered needlessly when there is help available.
So one your probably not in a good relationship and should get out of it. Two you really have to talk to your doctors and possibly start taking meds that will help your mind. You wouldn't have to take meds if you can do what the others have been telling you to do which is to try and control your thoughts on your own and to think positive, but some people can't do it without meds.
I pray that you get the help you need and that you start feeling better and not so afraid. Any mental illness is treatable and people can start to live happier lives. They just have to want to get help. Learn everything you can about your illness and ways to get better. Take care.
You are just over stressed! Way over stressed!!! You need to relax like they are saying. Tell your therapist how you are feeling. And certainly if you are suicidal, get help immediatly! But definatly do talk to your therapist!
Here for ya!
