I am currently trying to get off my antidepressant. Its been 6 weeks and i still feel like crap. Is this normal?

I'm not a doctor, but my surgeon told me that the meds they use to knock you out for surgery can take up to 6 months to completely leave your body. Now, I know there's a big difference between antidepressants and meds to knock you out, but I think it could take a few weeks to get completely out of your system.

Also, a few weeks ago, I was put on Depakote for the first time. I was on it for a total of 4 days. I had a severe allergic reaction, and have no recollection of those 4 days or the two weeks afterwards. It's very scary!! Those meds took away 2 entire weeks of my life, and I was only on them for 4 days!! So to answer your question, I think it's very possible that the meds are still lingering in your body. But know that it's almost over.
