You won't stay like this forever... I promise. But see the dr like you said. Sometimes meds can quit working or your body chemistry can change. You may need something else. As for the Xanax I recommend it only if you are in a really bad spot. It's not for everyday usage and only under the supervision of a dr. But it may give you a leg up on the anxiety. In addition to meds I would recommend Getting Dr Claire Weekes book Hope and health for your nerves. It's 6.99 on Amazon .com and is very good and has helped alot of people. You have to retrain your thoughts in regards to anxiety (which I know can be hard when you are in the midst of a really bad attack). Hang in there. Remember to breathe correctly and look up coping skills for anxiety. I would also recommend some cognitive behavorial therapy. HTH

Oh and about not being able to eat. Try drinking some Ensure. It will help you get vitamins and nutrients. I liked the chocolate with extra protein the best.

My first med was Lexapro. I had success with it for awhile, but I eventually built up a tolerance to it. It became completely ineffective. I don't want to freak you out, but you sound exactly like I did when the Lexapro maxed out on me. I recommend that you go to your doctor and discuss changing meds. Of all the meds I've tried, Lexapro and Prozac have been the most effective. Maybe you could try Prozac and see how you respond to it?

OMG you poor soul.Your doctor should not have left you in this state at all.I would have your sister talk to him about that. You need to have small doses of ativan or clonazipan till the pills kick in my friend.Tell your sister to demand this for you.Take as needed only. But once you start feeling more in control you will get stronger. This is not a life time sentence. It is curable.Take heart from that and stay strong.I am here if you need to talk.
