Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I've had anxiety for decades, but I never had a panic attack until I was well over 50. Last year I even had an anxiety based hallucination that was so real and scary I it took me several weeks to figure out what really happened.
So the moral of the story is: Everyone has anxiety, in varying degrees, its how you deal with it that's important.
As I am reading/researching , I realize that it definetly has to be something that has been brewing for awhile now if it's not a medical condition that brought this on.
I am thankful that I found this group/
My life did need to change: I had been in an unhappy marriage for 17 years, feeling lost, isolated, nonexistent. I think the anxiety was a way for my survival mechanisms to kick in and bring me back to reality while I still had a chance for life. So I have had to change my life, as well as learn more about myself and become more real.
Wait and see what it is with you. But it isn't forever, it doesn't continue forever. It's just a stage and you'll get through it. :)
As to the celexa, you might have to take that for 2 years for your reactions to readjust. But when you stop, stop very slowly. :) And the doctor sending you to a psychiatrist is the right thing for him to do: he's not calling you crazy, he just needs you to have a definite diagnosis. When you have a clear professional diagnoses, you have somewhere to start from, and are more likely to get the right kind of medication. Also when you're having a panic attack you can look like a nutter and it's hard to tell which kind of nutter you might be. :D

I did just recently have full blood work done. everything normal.
I too must figure a few things out in life as well . I did have a rough childhood ( because I was hard headed ) but would never think that my life was "bad" . I always felt that their are people who are worse off than you so what is there to complain about ?
I am very suspicious though about it being a hormonal balance or perimenopause .
Whatever the cause , its terrible and I wish everyone the best.
I am going to research a bit more about the Celexa. I would love a more natural remedy . I have a hard time taking meds.
Best Regards
