Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
First of all, taking care of yourself is the most important thing. Reaching out to people who can be there for you without expecting anything back from you, such as this support group or other forms of healthy support, are vital in your ability to cope with your anxiety. Stay honest with yourself, and with your ex girlfriend. Look inside yourself and see if you want or are able to be emotionally there for her right now.
Then just tell her the truth. You can use kind words that let her know that you care but you need to take time out for your own emotional health right now. Some people will try to manipulate you into staying in a unhealthy relationship. You are not responsible for her actions. While it is not good if she does hurt herself, it is not your fault, and it sounds like she needs to get help for herself. You can not prevent her actions. She is an adult, and her life is her responsibility and her choice.
I know that going through a break up is difficult. I know that trying to put some distance between yourself and the other person is at times lonely and feels bad. But the time you invest in taking care of yourself will make you stronger, happier, and healthier.
If she is "clocked out emotionally", you are not responsible, nor is it your job to clock her back in. Two people with problems do not make a happy, healthy couple. What I have found is staying in that kind of relationship only made my anxiety worse. Sometimes loving someone may mean letting go of the relationship for a while, so that both of you can grow stronger as individuals. Then if you do decide to get together again, you will have the strength to be there for each other.
As far as I'm concerned, a session of texting backandforthandbackandforth is talking.
Could you be up for a sit-down say a week from now? To give your sad friend something to look forward to. . :,) Is she able to see a doctor or counselor of some kind?
I better go. Good luck to you both . (((( )))). . . . (((( ))))
Very glad to hear you are feeling more at ease; thank you for your kind words as well. I wish you all the best. You are an amazing person as well - remember that when anxiety is trying to drag you down. Peace to you now and always.
