Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
You have to put them out of your mind and take Sunday as an entirely different Sunday. It also sounds like you might have been on emotional overload. Not sure what your situation is this week, but a few things you can control, so try to control them, like texting that old friend.
It is not easy, but just try to take it one day at a time. Each day is it's own. I know it is hard, but let last Sunday go!
Just thinking about it will make it happen, trust me, I have been there myself.
Try to do something for yourself to get away from the grind of every day crap. Take a walk in the park, or whatever is an escape for you. Take one moment at a time.
Does your mind go on overdrive like mine does no matter where you are? I have yet to conquer that when the mind races uncontrollably. I was told by my therapist to be aware every time your mind starts to obsess about something and think about something else. You say: too simple? Actually, it works. It's difficult, and you might have to turn your mind away from worrying 50 times in a minute, but if you stick with it, it can help.
Do not beat yourself up for all the things you said you shouldn't have done (call up an old friend, etc). You didn't die from food poisoning so that is something you can stop worrying about tomorrow. (or even today) And if that abusive friend calls back giving you problems, ignore it. Things change, and hopefully your friends will realize the stress you are under and will forget the arguing.
I am so sorry about your dad. My father is also in the hospital. My relationship with mine seems different than yours (I hate mine), but I do empathize with the pain of seeing what possibly could be the strongest person in your life so frail now.
Keep your chin up and realize that Sunday can be what you make of it. And it's only 4 PM on Saturday. You can have a good Saturday night as well. :)
