Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I mean, it's like saying when your leg is sawn off that you shouldn't complain because someone else got both legs sawn off. There's always someone off worse than you, isn't there. It's just the dumbest thing I can think of for anyone to say.
What I do wonder though, is if it's what they use to keep themselves going. You don't know if they have anxiety, or depression, and these trite 'ism's are what they use to stay above ground themselves.
or, of course, it will depend on what you are complaining about. In fact, it's best not to complain to anyone who doesn't actually understand. When you have anxiety it sticks you in a cognitive loop, and you can complain about the same silly thing every day for a year. This is very boring for other people. And also, the first five times they might have been understanding and nice - but by time no. 15 (you don't remember prior instances, part of this cognitive loop thing) they're getting a bit sick of it and the advice is becoming less and less loving and caring.
You have to learn silence. Endure in silence. I personally think it's better for you, because it puts pressure on you to increase in size. But of course you can always talk to someone who is understanding - that's just as good for you as silence amongst those who aren't. Just don't try to teach anyone anything, or get them to understand if they don't. If they could, they already would.
