Don't know about the stomach ache, but the other symptoms could be IBS. My son has that and had terrible stomach pain with it, along with diarrhea. He is on a medicine now that he puts under his tongue and it dissolves and relieves the pain so he can "go" to the bathroom more easily. I don't think blood tests would pick this up, though, but GI should definitely be able to help. My son is also going back to be checked out because of a recent "gag" reflex in which he sometimes throws up with. Your daughter may be experiencing something totally different, but I just thought I'd give you something to "ask" about.

Thank you Rochelle, I will look into that. I am wondering how bad it really is and how much is anxiety. She is a drama queen so even a little cut is blown out of proportion. She is not doubled over in pain but claims she cant stand to be in school with the pain,but when she is home she acts pretty normal but constantly complains that her stomach hurts. I told her that if she is making this up I wont be mad but if we go thru tests that are not needed that is a different story,She says she is not faking. And also it has been almost 2 months so if something was wrong I don't think she would drag it out this long.I know her Pediatrician thinks I am over reacting because I had to push for blood work and I told him the school nurse keeps calling to pick her up,his reply was to tell my daughter to not go to the nurse

It's so hard. I know when my daughter started with all her anxiety issues she had a lot of aches and pains, and stomach aches did go along with it. I'm not saying this is your daughter's issues, but I know anxiety can contribute. Even with my son, doctors are saying the "gag" thing could be anxiety. I just don't know. He has it almost every time he eats anything so it's frustrating. My husband and I feel like we need to have the reassurance of having him tested just to be sure there's nothing serious going on. You will probably feel more reassured as well. You do hate to put the kids through that, but at the same time we'd really kick ourselves if there was more wrong. You're doing the right thing. You just need to know at this point.

I agree w Rochelle, unless you have the testing done there's no real way to eliminate a medical cause for her issues. It almost sounds like she has some kind of infection. Or IBS as Rochelle suggested. My daughter also had nausea and vomiting w anxiety but they occurred during panic attacks so the cause was very clear. I would definitely continue to pursue this, even if it means finding a more supportive doctor. Please keep us posted on how things are progressing. Thinking of you!!!

She had blood work Tuesday,came back normal,Last night she said her stomach was worse, doesn't hurt as much when she lays down. Going to the ER today,at least I know they will do xray. I hope. I think that is the fastest way to rule some stuff out.

so ped. Dr. called and wanted to see my daughter, appointment at 4:15 then about 1:00 GI doc called and had a cancellation for tomorrow so our appointment is at 2. Daughter is very anxious,"what are they going to do to me", " what if they find something serious" She thinks the worst. She told me she looked up headache and stomach ache on the internet and it said it could be symptoms of cancer. I told her she doesn't have cancer and she needs to stay off medical sites. There is no consoling her when she is like that.I did notice yesterday and today she has been urinating a lot. She had a urine test for UTI and it came back negative, uggg

so went to the GI doctor and her prescribed anti cans(zantac) he checked everything so at least we know her insides are good.The thingtthat stumps me is she is urinating a lot, enough to be a UTI but test says no, I guess we will see

Hi there, So sorry to hear that your daughter is going through this, but as a parent of a child with anxiety, I can empathize with your situation. My daughter has emetaphobia ( the fear of vomiting) and GAD. Stomach aches are a huge part of my daughters experience. It is a vicious cycle for her. She will start to have anxiety which will give her a stomach ache, then she gets even more anxious as she thinks she is going to throw up! It is heartbreaking as a parent! Luckily, after trying CBT with little success, we tried A low dose of Prozac, and found that helped her. She has now been on the meds for three years and is doing well. We tried to wean her off about a year ago, just to have the symptoms return, so we will keep her on it. Also, when she was younger, she had urinary frequency issues as part of her anxiety. She would urinate 25 times a day and get awful rashes as a result. She was tested again and again for UTI, but that was not the issue. We eventually took her to a urologist who diagnosed it as urinary frequency due to anxiety. Hope this is helpful. hang in there- I have found that anxiety seems to come in waves for my daughter and some last longer than others.

yup that's my daughter, she is also on Prozac and we also tried to weaned her off and it was a disaster. I know in the past she has gotten stomach aches but this has been 2 months,but it seems the zantac is working.what a vicious cycle.

Please request MRI to rule out all other things.

My son was also anxious with panic attacks and it was none of the above.
He kept feeling a squeezing of the throat which all doctors thought was panic attacks and meds just made him mad
He also didn't want to eat or drink because he was scared of vomiting or chocking - he would come home with a closed lunch box and until open it when I was with him
We did MRI and he has Chiara - which is not good news but answers all the questions
