My partner has been on Humira for over a year now and he finds that the drug injected each week stopped the prgression of AS longer remissions. He is also on Fentenal Subdermal patches every 3 days for pain and it seems to hold him along with some oral analgesics.

I'm going to ask my doctor to start me on Humira during my next appointment. I've had to homeschool for the past few years because the pain has been unmanageable. I'll let you know how it works for me when I start to feel results.

I cannot say enough good things about it!! When I am on it..ALL of my symptoms are gone. I am pregnant and stopped...but it got so bad I was allowed to go back on. I also know that if you have any financial issues Humira will work with you. Log on to their website..its a great tool. Good Luck

I suffered for ten years. When AS started affecting my breathing, my wife made me see a specialist. After the first injection, he informed me that I should not expect anything for a couple of weeks. I was running two days later. I know that I shouldn't have been, but it is hard not to when it has been a decade since the last time. It has now been two months. I run everyday and lift weights again. The most important thing that I have to say is that I did not realize HOW MUCH this disease was taking from my life until the symptoms went away. Having sore joints was a normal part of my life after ten years. That is no longer the case.

I've allways found humira good for so many things, if your having a bad day there's nothing like a good giggle to perk one's self up and folks around you too.

I also got really quick results from Humira. My doctor also told me that it would take a long time to see symptom relief, but after about a week or 2, I was able to do pretty much anything I used to do. It was the best treatment I've ever had.

Oh wow, I am so jealous of those of you who had Humira work so quickly. I was/am so hopeful Humira will give me some improvement, but I've reached Week 10 and I'm still flaring, so much so I've just had to go back on cortisone to settle the most recent 2-week old flare of my neck, down.

I was hoping I'd wake up one morning and feel "like a new woman" but it just is'nt coming on fast enough. I know I'll be continuing on Humira for at least the next few months to see if it does eventually work, but in the meantime I'm just sad that this very expensive drug is worthless right now.

That's not entirely true - my sense of Humira is still there!!!!! Thank God.

Sorry to here it's not working for you Ms Cowgirl, I've never tried it I think thats one of those expensive ones the doc figured would'nt work on me.

I started on Humira a couple of months ago and it helps my RA and my AS! I'm also on methotrexate and sulfasalazine as well as prednisone. Humira made the biggest difference as I was on the others for over a year before Humira.

Humira isn\'t helping me too much... I\'ve been on is since January of this year and so far, all its done for me is make my stomach hurt from the injections and make me sleep for hours on end. My pain isn\'t better, but my flare ups aren\'t as bad as they were before. So for those of you that it is helping, I\'m so thankful for you. Hopefully my results are less common so more people can get relief!

I started Humira today. Im hoping for the best. I have not been on anything in over a year. Have been too busy in school to take care of myself I guess. But I know this may seem crazy but 5 minutes after I took that shot, I could feel less tense in my joints so I'm praying this will get me living and enjoying life again.

I have been using mostly natural remedies, treatments for AS, My Dr.
now wants to put me on Humira, quite frankly I am scared to death the side effects seem brutal. The pain is almost constant and recently I have been getting shooting pains in the occipital nerve. Most of the other meds I have taken in the past have reacted with me very badly, nsaid-ulcer, so on and so forth. Any comments would be appreciated, Just feel lost right now as to the right thing to do.

Hey Doug! My father has been on practically EVERYTHING! He started Humira a few years ago and has been LOVING it ever since. It has really helped him with doing everything he wants to do. :) I am SO glad for this medication. Oh, and one question! What do you mean when you say "new chat coming soon?"

After doing a lot of research, I have decided Humira and it's risks, just don't justify it for me, I have tried something called INFLA-Heal which has given me some relief and have talked to a homeopathic Dr. as well. I just can't see taking something that is so damaging and life threatening to so many people.
