Puppy tied to train tracks in the California desert narrowly avoided being crushed by an oncoming train. He's now up for adoption.
The 10-month-old poodle-terrier mix was tied to the tracks near Mecca, Calif., earlier this month by a 78-year-old man, officials there say. The engineer of the approaching train saw the man walking away from the tracks and used emergency brakes to stop the locomotive.
Union Pacific special agent Sal Pina arrived on the scene, untied the pooch and detained the man, who "said his family didn't want the dog and didn't know what to do," according to a statement from Riverside County Animal Services.
”It’s probably one of the worst things I’ve seen," Pina said. "I’ve never seen something like this."
Officials did not pursue animal-cruelty charges against the man because he "appeared to be confused or senile and didn't fully understand what he had done." The man was released to his family.

The pup, nicknamed Banjo for old train traffic signals, was taken to the Coachella Valley Animal Campus in Thousand Palms, Calif., where a veterinary technician "examined the dog, treated him and gave him a bath." She even took Banjo home to give him a little extra care.

Like I said this was a sad story but unless you have lived through someone with these 2 diseases I wouldn't be so fast to judge. The family might not have known he was doing this as he could have been taking the dog for a walk as far as they were concerned. Just my 2 cents.......
In WV, a man adopted (from Craigslist) at least 25 puppies and tortured them all to death, allegedly holding his girlfriend against her will and forcing her to participate. A petition was circulated demanding that he receive the harshest punishment allowed by law.

how about this instead. we tie the man to the railroad tracks. we torture the wv man exactly as he tortured the puppies and ditto to the florida girl torturing and killing kittens and cats (her father and grandmother as well since they TAUGHT AND TRAINED her as a child to do this, so by her teens and twenties she claimed that she thought when a person goes out with a man, that is what they do, same when they go out with a grandparent). i don't believe for ONE SECOND that people like that change, they just get better at covering it up. total sociopaths, psychopaths, deviant, depraved, disgusting, never should have been born humans
It was a PETA video I saw of a man slaughtering an animal, I believe for its pelt, with total indifference to its obvious suffering. He held it up by the tail, and slowly lowered his booted foot onto the animal's head, crushing its skull. Blood poured out of its ears, eyes and mouth while its body writhed wildly in agony before he ripped its skin from its body (the writhing didn't stop after that). I don't even know if I saw the whole process, but what I saw went on far longer than would have been required to simply kill the poor creature. This is what happens in countries with NO animal cruelty laws. This is what inspired me to stop consuming animal products.
Pro-lifers are horrified at the number of abortions performed in a year. Animals who are alive and aware and live out their entire lives in fear and suffering are slaughtered by the millions every day. Why doesn't this mean anything?
