Outdoor Cat Missing :(

I started taking care of 4 kittens back in 2013. I tried to have them adopted with no luck. I took a TNR course and was able to have them neutered. I also was able to obtain outdoor housing for them so they would be warm in the winter (on the cold snowy days, I brought them all in and put them in my spare bedroom). Unfortunately one just disappeared. I like to think someone took him in. I grew so attached to the other three, particularly the black one I named Jett. I wanted to adopt Jett and bring him in (I would have him come in from time to time but I already had a indoor cat and dog) but Jett and Baby were so attached outside and Baby really depended on Jett. My poor little Jett was injured last October, I don't know whether an animal attacked him or he got caught in a trap. He died en route to the Vet. I was devastated. I miss him terribly and wish I would have brought him in. I still have the last two of the litter, Dallas and Baby but now I haven't seen Baby in about 5 days. This is odd behavior for him because he just likes to hang around the house and stay on my porch. I'm really getting worried. I know the dangers of cats living outdoors, but I'm so sad right now. Does anyone else have outdoor cats? Has this ever happened?

Gosh, I'm so sorry joenick.
I used to feed a ferol cat I named "Baby" and like your cat one day she disappeared.
I tell myself she was adopted, but you never really get over worrying !

do you live in a city? or even in the country there are coyotes and snakes and in the cities there are evil humans. ideally a cat is happiest with a cat door either in the window or in a door so they can go in and out as they please. they are very cheap and easy to install. you can always use a spare bedroom and put the cat door in one of those windows and keep that door closed if you don't want your other cat using it, but generally the animal has to be taught to use it. you put a shelf on either side of the cat door and a table below that on either side so it can easily jump up to it.

so sorry one is missing. keep putting food out every morning with fresh water so it knows where home is.

I live in the city but a rural neighborhood. I think someone in my neighborhood may have trapped and relocated it. I'm hearing that this is what is done when they don't want the cats in their yard. I have an outdoor home for it and always plenty of food waiting. It's over 3 weeks now and I'm losing hope that I will see Baby again. Thanks for your adivce :)

check with local shelters. the shelters kill feral cats quickly and even domestics 90 percent of the adult "friendly" cats are killed. put up signs as well. and an ad on craigslist and in the local paper.

It's been 5 weeks since I last saw my "Baby" so I'm doubting he will ever return. I feel so bad because I know he would have never just disappeared. I'm sure he was either relocated (because that is what these people in my neighborhood do) or perhaps even hurt or injured. Thanks for you concern.

you never know. the kitty from around the block was missing when i wanted to take it in to be fixed. noticed today it is back. wonder if it knew. though now its too hot for that, and it won't cool off until late september at the earliest.

This is terrible, the last of that litter, Baby's brother Dallas is gone also! Baby disappeard now over 2 months and Dallas over 2 weeks. Something is going on in my neighborhood. I have a feeling someone is trapping them. I feel so awful!

Well my Dallas showed up today after missing for 2 weeks. I was so happy to see him. He looked healthy so I don't know where he's been! Just glad he came back!

I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm a huge animal lover so when I lose an animal to disease or old age, it kills me.
