Anger Management Support Group
Anger management commonly refers to therapeutic techniques by which someone with excessive or uncontrollable anger can control or reduce their emotions. Typical examples include the use of deep breathing and meditation as a means to relaxation. Psychologists recommend a balanced approach, which both controls the emotion and allows it to express itself in a healthy way.
You might consider contacting Focus on the Family. They have free counseling resources on their website - bit.ly/L82Sr9. I hope that helps. Change is possible but it's hardly ever automatic. Blessings to you!
If you didn't work hard enough at my parent's farm, we got our ass chewed out.
But I went from being on a farm to working in downtown Chicago. I would like to think that my big change in work environment was due to my intelligence, but it really wasn't. It had more to do w/ keeping my mouth shut and not venting, yelling at others or not telling secrets. Yeah, the self control helped me more than my smarts.
Do everything you can to learn to bite your tongue. & if you have something to say, that you really want to say, use TACT.
I am upset at my own situation as a father. I wrote about it in our discussion board at http://www.dailystrength.org/c/Anger_Management/forum/19320003-am-i-supposed

their arguments. Really unfair.
I yelled way too much when I had young children. If I could change
one thing in my life, I would have been more like June Cleaver and less like Roseann. I would send them to their rooms for no reason at all. I think of it and regret it often.
There was a time when I would come home from my horrible job, and for the first 5 minutes, close my bedroom door, lay down and relax completely. It helped. Also, I would sit at my desk and plan
or envision a peaceful, calm me, but I didn't turn into this person
that I needed and wanted to be.
If you can go to counseling, it probably improves the odds of changing the behavior permanently. Good luck.
