Anger Management Support Group
Anger management commonly refers to therapeutic techniques by which someone with excessive or uncontrollable anger can control or reduce their emotions. Typical examples include the use of deep breathing and meditation as a means to relaxation. Psychologists recommend a balanced approach, which both controls the emotion and allows it to express itself in a healthy way.

I sometimes feel stuck like I have no options, like others are having control over me. It causes me to be afraid (of being controlled my someone - childhood fears), and I react almost like a toddler sometimes just fighting back. Sometimes for me it's even just perceived helplessness and the other person isn't really doing anything to control me; I guess it just reminds me of past stuff in ways.
Do you think there are other emotions that build up too much and might be causing the anger? Maybe think about a specific situation and what might've triggered you then?
Have you ever had a time when you felt the anger but didn't express it? Would you know what made you take that pause before reacting? I'm just learning to identify these things. I think it helped after I discovered those underlying emotions. I'm starting to recognize when I'm feeling afraid or panicky, and it reminds me that I'm probably going to get angry (or more angry, to that lose-it point). Then sometimes I can get myself to take deep breaths and walk away til I'm calmer to talk it out. But tbh I still go off a lot.
It also seems to help when I'm calmer to define what I can and can't control in an ongoing situation. If there are things I can change, then I try to do something small just to feel more in-control of my life again. If there are things that are purely out of my control, then sometimes it might mean that I'm dealing with a toxic person that I need to remove from my life, or that there are just some things I need to accept or choose to let go of, if they still bring me joy in other ways.
Hope this helps. <3

also shifting my mindset to take a step back when I get angry and ask myself why I am feeling this way, what is triggering me? because that is what anger is, a reaction to a trigger of something inside us. It has nothing to do with the other person, otherwise EVERYONE would be mad about the same things all the time. Not sure if that makes sense but it helps me sometimes. and other times I just know I am in an angry mood, I let my friends and loved ones know I am not in a very good mood and that I would rather say nothing than something out of anger. that seems to help with some of the pressure. hope this helps even a little!!
Hang in there.
