Anger Management Support Group
Anger management commonly refers to therapeutic techniques by which someone with excessive or uncontrollable anger can control or reduce their emotions. Typical examples include the use of deep breathing and meditation as a means to relaxation. Psychologists recommend a balanced approach, which both controls the emotion and allows it to express itself in a healthy way.
I get your frustrations but I also get her pulling away. I don't know the nature of your marriage or how things are going. I can tell you if you do nothing, you likely will be facing life alone for a while.
I did seven years of counseling which did help me tremendously with my anger. It wasn't perfect, obviously, but I made tremendous strides. To continue my growth, I've bought a workbook from the New Harbinger Press...."The Anger Control Workbook: Simple, Innovative Techniques for Managing Anger and Developing Healthier Ways of Relating". This workbook may or may not be for you. It seems to be helping me reinforce what I had learned in counseling.
At one time, there was a men's support group that delved into anger issues. I was unable to get in due to the group being full at the time. From what I was told, it did sound like a better option for me than counseling. Maybe there's such a group somewhere near you?
