Anger Management Support Group
Anger management commonly refers to therapeutic techniques by which someone with excessive or uncontrollable anger can control or reduce their emotions. Typical examples include the use of deep breathing and meditation as a means to relaxation. Psychologists recommend a balanced approach, which both controls the emotion and allows it to express itself in a healthy way.
I don’t know if you have a drinking problem but there are programs that can deal with both.
You describe how I used to be. I no longer drink and I’m in very few heated situations anymore.
Good job for you to reach out for help, but those morning after “oh shits” are pretty common. It’s what you do after the shame, guilt, and remorse dies off.
This sounds like something I actually could write. Everything about it is how I am. I fought with my BF about everything , and it was 100% worse when we (mostly I) drank. Just 2 weeks ago, we drank, fought, and the next morning we broke up. It’s been the worst 2 weeks of my life and that’s when I realized that I have anger issues and get upset about NOTHING. Now I realize that I should not fight anymore. If I get angry or upset, I get out my phone and text someone I trust, or get on here to determine if it’s a real reason I should get upset. My advice to you is to think about your relationship, imagine losing him. If you don’t want to lose him, then try to fight less. Eventually fighting will drive him away, like it did for my ex. I realize now that nothing I fought about was ever worth losing him. So just next time you get mad or angry, try to think before you act. Best wishes to you and your relationship. If you need someone to talk to when you get angry, you can always reach out to me!
