Take care of yourself. I waited for 10 months for my anerysm surgery. And you are right. Sometimes it seems the doctors don't really care. Certainly hope things go well for you. I totally understand your frustrations. Prayers your way.

pegribrob, my aneurysm is exactly 2.6 as well. They are setting up a Ultra Sound to see if it has grown. Here in the states they will not do anything until it grows to 5 cm. Also my understanding is you do not want to wait for it to disect, because you only have limited time to seek medical attention, and it's a matter of minutes. Waiting for that to happen could cost you your life. Please do soem research on this and get familiar with the AAA.

Hi i have a taa of 4.2. I freaked out when I was told because my geandpa had one and I knew odss of living after dissection nearest hoapital for me is 30 minute drive but the reason I freaked is my immediate thought was I cant have the surgery becauae of my health ans i probably cant have the transplant i need to live with it as a problem. Then i found out this had been around for a few years without change and noone told me. I also know that the surgery has some really high odds and they weigh the likelihood of dissection against death from surgery for this. The doctors dont consider something as stable as mine a deterrent to transplant thank God because odds are it wont be a problem in my life expectancy even though i am close to where they would look at surgery. They have discussed doing both while they are in when and if i get transplant. I know it is scary but we come here for info and to see how others are doing to guage are own progress. In my case i am also curious if this is also related to the autoimmume issues inmy family. Take care.

Sorry to hear about this. My Mother had an abdominal aneurism when she was 66 years old ,operated on and did very well. It doesn't feel so good when you are going through it. My daughter was just diagnosed with a brain aneurism 6mm and they want her to have brain surgery to remove it. She is 33 years old and has 3 children to raise. Both aneurisms can be serious operations to have. Please try to think as positive as you can. It's easy for the rest of us to say, I know but the alternative is not good. i have had three small strokes,went to the doctor because i was not feeling good and found out that i had a anerysm doctors said we will watch it well about a year later went back to have it checked and found out that it was abnormally shaped and so my neurologist says i had to have surgery to have a stent put in well the surgery date is july 8th very scared,and its in my head its a very scary but what u should do is leave it to god and he will take care of you
