I survived a ruptured sub achniod brain aneurysm. I was in the hospital trying to find out why I was having incredible headaches at the time or I would not have survived.
I strongly suggest you get your buns down to the lower 48 and get them clipped before they rupture! The recovery time for a clipped annie is 90 days. A ruptured annie, 5 years. Let me know how you are. Yours, Eric

I agree with some of what Eric says yet disagree in others. One finding out that you have them is great knowledge...you can do something about them. One you should find a way to keep an eye on them and get to a doctor that can clip them before they rupture. I know the curse of knowing you have something that can take your life and just have to wait till something is done. I found my aneurysms before they ruptured and am very lucky to still be alive. The part I disagree with Eric on is simple the recovery time. I hope that all goes well and you recover in 90 days, yet it has been 4 years and 4 months now for me since my surgery and I am still recovering. I am on the most powerful med just to sleep at night. However I will take that over the alternative. I wish you the best

Dear Todd, I did pick only one example as far as recover times goes. But I did this to emphasis the difference in the degree of the injury if left unchecked. Recovery is different for everyone. I used only one example as a warning that aneurysms are a serious life threat and should be treated as such. Eric

I agree with Eric. Have talked to people who had aneurysms fixed before rupture and they are fine now. I had one that did not rupture and about 4 months later I felt like I did before I had it. The ruptured ones are the problem. They affect everyone differently but then we are told, but you survived it, be grateful and happy and go on with life. If it was not such a bad thing to recover from, sometimes I wish others could have one to find out what it is really like. Because we can walk around, talk and do things and no physical systems show, they think we are okay and should not have any problems to think about. I told my brother-in-law I would not wish this on my worst enemy because of what goes on with our minds and body. He then realized just how bad it can be. I talked with a lady on here who had one by her eye and she had it fixed and was fine in about 5 months. Take care and keep us informed. Carol

I know you only picked a number to help emphasize the difference Eric. I just want our new member to understand numbers are just that numbers. Marie you are burdened with the knowledge of something that is a very serious to your health. By all means get whatever help you can that makes you feel comfortable. I just want you to know that recovery is not always short and can take a long time, and may not ever recover to what you are now. You will however have all of us here to help and support you.

I have one more ? what size do they have to be before they do surgery? The doctors around here seems to think they are not a concern>

5mm is what I was told. Mine was 14mm though so was no question surgery had to take place.
