Anemia Support Group
Anemia (or anaemia), which literally means "without blood," is a deficiency of red blood cells and/or hemoglobin. This results in a reduced ability of blood to transfer oxygen to the tissues, and this causes hypoxia; since all human cells depend on oxygen for survival, varying degrees of anemia can have a wide range of clinical consequences.
I just had a Brother-in-law die from leukemia, so naturally, I self diagnosed myself with that being a possibility, although my doctor said it was mostly unlikely. (I like how the doctors use such words as "mostly). This leaves them an out, in case it is.
For the ladies, I have learned that, as you have already stated, those that have heavy menstrual cycles are prone to this disease. I a mo NO doctor and therefore this is my own personal advice. Maybe you should try some iron supplements. I have always found GNC to have competent people working their stores and should be able to recommend something to get you started. Don't expect any really quick miracles. Iron, like most nutrients, takes awhile to get into your system, but try this for 30 days and then have your blood checked again. Also, try eating healthier, if you aren't already and forego the sweets. Take nice long walks and drink plenty of water.
Good Luck and remember those of us that have this dreaded disease or issue are pulling for each of us. I include each of us in my daily prayer. Please keep us posted.
