I have lichen amyloidosis. This started off as itching all over my body when I was 11 years old. The constant itching lead to this condition which is thickening of the skin and also hyper pigmentation (too much pigment - darker skin). I am a female of 43 years old and the condition was not treated as I did not apply the steroids when I was younger. I have over the past 20 years wanted to wear sleeveless/backless clothes but cannot. The condition affects the tops of my arms, back, neck and forehead. I lose confidence because of the condition. Is there any treatment that anyone is aware of or somebody who can help me. I am now taking an antihistamine to break the itch cycle. My nhs dermatologist has prescribed me kligmans formula (hydroquine 4%) for my forehead and also retin a. The hyper pigmentation is not so dark but it is slow working and i have been using it coming upto 1 year. I am concerned about the side effects of the cream because of longterm use. He only prescribes steroids for the rest of the body which I wont use because it is such a large area. Please please help if you can. Also i don't know if this is relevant of this condition but i have a white furry tongue. Thanks

My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
