What just happened?

Hi,


   So... Back in March of 2016 I had a craptaculer accident where a man hit me on the interstate causing my vehicule to rollover 4 times. I remember the entire thing up until the hospital emergency room.  My heart stopped 4 times, 7 broken ribs, punctured lung, broken big toe lol, my left arm was originally degloved and shattered. An infection required the amputation.I awake a month later minus my left arm above the elbow. I'm home now, adjusting, adapting and learning; thinking, what is my next step? I feel stuck. I am surrounded by all these loving and caring people who continue to support and advise me. Encouraging me, repeating that I survived to do great and wonderful things.


    I think to myself, "how do you know this? What do they see in me that I haven't?" I don't feel broken I just look at this as another challenge I will accomplish but I do not feel greatness.


    Anyone have some insight?

Hi Azul. I'm so sorry for your struggles. I can't say I know your pain but I was in an MVA 8 years back and sustained multiple fractures to 3 limbs. I have pins, plates and rods in these Limbs but the worst left me now... 8 years later having to consider amputation. I'm grateful they managed to save my leg at the time (after spending a year in a wheelchair), but now I face a decision I sometimes wish I didn't have to make. It's like going through that recovery all over again. Sure, I, unlike you, have control over this decision but I truly believe that there is a higher power that knows best. I went through a tedious recovery, including opioid addiction, only to be back where I started. So perhaps this really was all for the best. You can accept and look forward, ahead. Forget everyone's expectations of you. Focus on being independent and doing what makes YOU happy. Whatever makes you feel fulfilled and content. I'm so sorry you feel the way you do. But one day at a time right? If he brings you to it, he will bring you through it. But for now. Forget being great and changing the world. Change your world until you feel great

Hi Azul,

I am reaching out because I saw that you felt "stuck" and wondered if you might be interested in a project I am working on. I am casting a new show that is based on the premise of the book/film "Wild" where we are looking for women from all walks of life who would be interested in hiking the Pacific Crest Trail as a way of healing emotionally. The show will be documentary style and follow these women as they challenge, empower, and inspire each other.
