It's not about how old a person is that matters. It is more about how one's body, mind. and spirit are functioning. If you are in decent health, positive thinker, and motivated to do better everyday, then you will be all right. Granted there will be ups and downs, but overall a good experience. the same can be said for the opposite. If one is defeated and negative then they will nave a more difficult time with the process. Recovery time depends on your body. Yo will have good days and bad days. Just keep moving forward !!

Taoeptrescue How did you lose your Leg? Is your amputee below the knee? I still remember my first time I put on my new leg I said are you supposed to walk with this. He said yes I have one. It was very hard at the beginning but every week got mush easier. I'm a above the knee amputee

Above knee. Since August.
Complicated, but basically I first had a tumor removed, then needed knee replacement. Ultimately developed an infection that required the amputation.
So far the prosthetic is working good. Waiting for one of the newer microprocessor ones....

I will agree, attitude is everything in the healing process.

Don't make the mistake that I made after surgery by comparing your progress against people that might be younger. Your progress should be monitored by your prosthesis technician. I imagine we all deal with pain but that was not a concern for me. If you have a good rehab facility that helps a lot. A good caregiver is a must. All of that with a positive attitude should make life easier for you. Good luck!
