Amputees Support Group
Amputation is the removal of a body extremity by trauma or surgery. Many have undergone amputation or have been living with a missing limb since birth. In either case, life as an amputee can be challenging. This is the place to find others going through the same experiences as an amputee. Share your thoughts, troubles, and solutions with the community.
I'm sorry that you have been feeling down lately. I'm not very good at giving advice about life but here are my thoughts....
Self reflection is fine but don't let it spiral downward. Don't let the sad thoughts out number the good thoughts. Try and stay positive. Be grateful for all of the good things in your life. Focus on what you have instead of what you don't have. Don't look back, look ahead. Life is too short to focus on things that you can't change. You can't change what or why things happened so try not to dwell on it. Instead, live in the moment and look forward to the future.
Hang in there!

All we can do is learn from then and make everyday better then the last day.
This happen to you for some reason and someday it will show it self to you, maybe you will be able to help somebody out who really needs you, or maybe you needed to learn something about life. There is a reason why we just have to wait to show it self to us. We our all here for a reason until it comes we have to live life to fullest as possible because it will end one day.
You don't ever get back to where you were, You get back to where you are going". (I believe our paths are only apparent to us as we live through them and learn as we go.)
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW, what a RIDE!!"
Why me? If it hadn't been you, then it may have been someone who couldn't handle it as well as you."

Recently I had such an opportunity, scootering around my local Wal Mart store. Saw a fellow minus both arms and both legs. Had JUST seen Nicky Vajicic (?) on some local TV station's religious program and passed the website info to the fellow's caregiver witha note that I figured maybe he might be sensitive about a stranger approaching and talking to him about it. Saw him later in the store, gave me a thumbs up type of glowing smile and looked like he'd been told about my note.
I find that these are the quickest ways to get my rump off the pity pot. HELP SOMEBODY ELSE, SOMEHOW...
