Hot on the heels of his explanation for why he no longer wears a flag pin, presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama was forced to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.
According to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171, During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.
'As I've said before about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides,' Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. 'I like the song I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing. If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.'
This is the first time I have seen this answer. I already thought he was a light weight, but from his own mouth he says, he doesn't want to take sides for the USA ?
How can he be President if he thinks of the American flag as a symbol of oppression and he can't respect our national anthem and what the words represent?
I do not believe that this radical liberal is in touch with the American people if he believes the American people would EVER consider changing the national anthem to his choice of 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing' He apparently wants to salute a song but not the country's flag. What an idiot. This guy is a danger to all!!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I hope people realize that Bill Ayres would be in prison were it not for a technicality and just because he got off, doesn't mean he isn't guilty. People need to realize that Obama holds to the same philosphy as his terrorist friend.
