I have some time to myself right now after having had such a terrible past 2 weeks with mom.
I keep busy. That seems to help me when I am down. If you can, find a hobby you enjoy and do it. Try to get away from your situation, if you can, and go outside and walk in a nice place outdoors and listen to some nice music and try to think positive. Reading my holy books helps me also. It reminds me that this world is only temporary and we need to prepare for the next.
I hope you feel better!

I never wanted to put my mom in the nursing home, but things got so bad that I could not work, eat, sleep or even be a wife to my husband. I finally took her to the emerg room for the 2nd time and I told them that they had to find her a place and I would help, because I could no longer care for her at home. I had to file lots of paper work for her for medicaid and since she does not have much but 2 pensions I believe she is ok for Medicaid. They will take all the mone she had and has to care for her, but it is worth it. She is doing ok now in the place 10 min from me and I go to see her 3 times a day plus I have a worker that baby sits when I can't be there. She is now adjusting to the place. Of course they tried many different drugs but she is adjusting to it. She is comfortable and seems happy. The drugs help her deal with the change. Try to see if you can apply for some help. Talk to a social worker in your area call the alzheimer association. They can help you!
I hope you will resolve your problem!!

Don't let this take you down. Can you call the VA and arrange for some respite ? I mean the kind where you take him to the facility for a week. THEN after you finish crying ( about 1 day) get out and do something.. anything.
For 2 days after I took Ron to the hospice house.. tears just spilled out. THEN.. all of a sudden I felt freedom. I felt kind of bad that I felt so good.
Please call the VA today.
