First she broke every dish in the house just because he wouldn't give her the car keys. She was out of control she came to my house threatening to kill not only herself but me and my father as well. Because I have cerebral palsy, I had to escape to my sister house. My mom is now been placed on SEROQUEL. I used to enjoy my independence. Now I'm not so sure. My brother calls the Sheriff's Department, but they could do nothing except Mark my father's address that a person with Alzheimer's lives there. My mother no longer recognizes my father. She only sees him as a possible murder.

Wow!, that's a tough place to be in. Maybe it's time to start thinking about other living arrangements for your Mom, if it's feasable. In the meantime, hope the seroquel helps and controls her mood swings. Hugs

Is it possible for her t be psychiatrically hospitalized? For her own and others safety and to have an evaluation and medication management...?

If you get her to the ER they would have to admit her for a 3day psych eval. It may seem harsh but it can give some time to let the meds work. Also provides a safe place for her and a respite for everyone else. Also they cannot discharge her until she is stable to go home or if she is not they have to release her to skilled nursing care.

This is the best way to get someone help if they are out of control. Good Luck and remember that she can be a danger to herself and to others.
