Lol, i kinda laughed a little when i read it... i bet its freaky... but dont worry i doubt that he's staring at you... he's just staring... my mom did that alot... i dont think they looking at anything... their eyes are set but their minds are probably elsewhere... they get this look in their eyes, you know they can hear you and they answer u but their stare is blank... I've wondered so many times what my mom was thinking...

Oh yes, get it all the time or if he is not stareing at me he'll just be staring off with a totaly blank look on his face and often when I speak to him he will not answer.
Even before he developed AD Neal would do that at times and when I'd ask him what he was thinking he would reply "was I thinking?". Now he doesn't even reply. It is just part of this disease process.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!He wont go for long though because I ask him to please stop. (he is still in the early stages) It gets to our son (11) so much that he basically stays in his room!!!!!!!!!!!

It happened with my Mom too. I never took it personal...it's all part of the disease. To Halimie...your son has a long, tough road ahead of him. Maybe the Alzh assoc. can offer you guidance/ maybe there is a support group for kids. Going to his bedroom= running from the pain. It's painful, but childrem or adults, we have to go THROUGH the pain. Sounds like your son is trying to STOP the pain. Learning to focus on this feelings and deal w/ them will help all of you in the long run. The alternative could be turning to alcohol/drug abuse to numb his pain, or an array of things that you wont' have energy for because you are dealing with your husband,
