We have been posting a little about speaking and I have noticed how my husband doesn't talk much anymore and he struggles to finish a sentence, uses the wrong word etc. When we were driving to the store yesterday the thought hit me, I used to complain about his constant chatter because I would want to listen to music in the car. I used to say to people, "My husband wakes up talking and he goes to sleep talking." Now, he sits quietly, a lot. :(

Deborah, that is so sad. You must miss the man your married. I don't know what to say. Maybe I can tell you a little something sorta funny about my dad. His disease had a rather strange effect, he was always a very quiet man and when he was in the later stages of Alzheimers, he would use BIG words that I had never heard him use before. I went to visit him one day and he was in the wrong room accross the hall looking out the window so intently. I ask him what he was looking at and he said, "I'm over here st

Ron used to talk NONSTOP ! It used to drive me nuts. He used to read the paper out loud to me.. also, drove me nuts. I used to wish he would be quiet for a while. I used to go to bed early just to get away from the chatter. Now he only says "yes".

I wonder how frustrating it must be for him now... so much to say..

I wish I could make other people understand- appreciate your partner, you don't know what may happen and one day you may regret it.

Unfortunately, I think he worries a lot and that is what is going on his head, just the little things he does say, usually he is worried about this or that.
