O Praise the Lord for mercy unto me
Once I stood proud, to conquer a crowd,
With fluency of voice echoing out loud,
Thence wall would crumble and window did break,
O praise the Lord, for mercy unto me.
I could labor all day, without thinking twice,
Agility and enthusiasm were names of the game,
Mind always alert, neer stopping to take rest,
O praise the Lord, for mercy unto me...
Skill and perfection with any type of confection,
Hands ever steady, as a spirit level balanced,
Eye like a hawk to the minuscule detail,
O praise the Lord, for mercy unto me...
Walk mile after mile, neer a sinew complained,
Striding my way along the Great China Wall,
And saw the awesome view from Mount Kinabalu,
O praise the Lord, for mercy unto me...
I ran the gauntlet of a nocturnal curfew,
Confronted a tank, with gun aimed at me,
Then bought gems, from the Sri Lanka Sea,
O praise the Lord, for mercy unto me...
Far off lands a charisma to my profession,
Into the jungle depths, or deserts barren bare,
Traveling the globe with the manna of heaven,
O praise the Lord, for mercy unto me...
Then cometh unto me the most precious pearl,
Entering my soul with the crystal of life,
Vowing us together as one, husband and spouse,
O praise the Lord, for mercy unto me
Now life doth wane betwixt being and demise,
Thus my wandering days, not as since past,
Yet youre at my side, with comforting heart,
O praise the Lord, be merciful unto me

Many thanks for your very kind words which I find extremely motivating since poetry has become a big part of my daily fight mechanism as its an excellent way to get the stresses and frustrations of the illness of the chest so to speak
Its the first time Ive attempted to write a poem in this style that I believe is known as a (Kyrielle) being medieval French and derives from a part of the church liturgy called the Kyrie Eleison hence the way it reads like a prayer, so Im pleased you liked it as that means I must have got the style correct!
In fact I have already self published THREE books of my poems and a book of my articles in respect of how the illness affects me and my family which I did with a USA company called (I-Proclaim) as trying to find a publisher who is willing to undertake the publication on my behalf is almost imposable unless you are already a recognized author.
So yes my books of poetry are available although this particular poem is not in any of the books as Ive only just written it, but hopefully I will get to write a Fourth book of poems! By the way I did in fact set up a Poetry group yesterday but then for some reason I found that I was unable to post any poems in the group which got me so frustrated that I deleted the group so I must try again once I can fathom out how to do it correctly!
