I take my grandmother to the hair dresser every friday, and she told me next week that they are moving 45 minutes away from where we live. I tried to gently tell her that a 45 minute drive to go get her hair done, is not in the budget. That's a lot a gas, especially because where I live it's climbed to about $3.78 a gallon. A half a tank is around $50 (We have a minivan). She proceded to scream at me; saying that she'll take her own life in her hands and drive herself. And that I control everything, and that maybe she should just die and then I can be happy. I know it's the disease, and she's been very dramatic ever since I could remember; but how could she say something so hurtful? I would never even think that, let alone wish that... I couldn't hold in the tears, I cried silently the whole ride home. Then, I went upstairs to calm down, and she follows me screaming at me more. I didn't know what to do. Ignore her? Argue more? She doesn't understand how much gas the car takes, and when I try to explain it to her, she calls me a bitch or ungreatful. I take her everywhere, I pay for as many things as I can, I try and make her feel better when she is upset.

Then, when I told her I give up, and maybe when she calms down we can compromise. My boyfriend comes home, and she goes "Ooo now you can complain about me, and tell him what a stinker I am" It's like she has become a bully. If I don't share every detail with her of whatever I am doing, she throws a fit. I'll ask her not to touch something, because I need to keep track of it, and she slams it down and gets in my face. Worst of all she puts my boyfriend in the middle of everything. Whenever I am trying to explain something to her, she says "Don't you think Amanda is mean to me Sam? Doesn't she always pick on me? Isn't she controlling?" and he says no, she says "Oh sure, he would side with you anyway, your his girlfriend" It's so irritating.

Or when I ask why she gets so mad at me? She says "You are ungreatful. I let your boyfriend stay in MY house, and you always pick on me." Since when is it her house? We all live there and do our fair share. It's like she wants us out... but then we do something she wants; she rants and raves how wonderful we are. I can't stand it. I need a break, but everytime I try to leave , even for a walk around the block she makes me feel guilty. I know it is probablly going to get worse, but she's visicous. That was a minor argument. Any advice?
