I feel like a dummy so I am sharing in case there are other dummies who may be too shy to admit it. I don't know I thought it would be this way because most everything comes about in small occurrences until it is a complete change.

Anyway, today I found Rollie with wet sweat pants. He had peed his pants. I thought how weird, yea right, how weird with ALZ! Everything is weird. Here I have been complaining about him not using the diapers and today he did, Except he wasn't wearing them at the time! HA HA HA HA on me.

Then it occurred to me that I was expecting him to one day be able to pee in the toilet and then the next day be totally incontinent. What a dummy! Of course just like most other things it comes in spurts, little thing once in awhile until it is all the time.

It certainly is a learning experience. Sometimes I feel like it is contagious because I have so much on my mind that I can't think of something of forget something. I was shopping with a friend today on my day out.....we were in Sears and I looked up and said to her, "where are we, are we still in Penneys?" That was scary. We seriously need to take care of ourselves.

Learn as we go.

Damn you people make me think too much!!! lmao

A few months back my mom made a comment about not being able to take a vacation because my dad couldn't make an airplane trip without going to the bathroom. And of course trying to get to the bathroom on a plane is hard for a healthy person and impossible for someone who is shuffling along.

Now I'm wondering if he is having problems with bladder and bowel control. And I'm sure that this hasn't been discussed with any of his doctors....grrr

After driving him and me totally nuts and exhausted trying to take him to the toilet numerous times a day... I just gave up and used the diapers. After that.. once in a while while showering he might use the toilet... or poop or pee in the shower.. but we just used the diapers. I checked and changed him for wetness 3 or 4 times a day and, of course, after a bowel movement. It just became easier for both of us.
Just one less thing to stress out over.

What I notice is two steps backward and then one step forward. The end result is that no matter where you are, you are still going backward. I just plan on that.

Good luck Deborah. I think Rollie is just going backward now, no forward for him.
