I am wondering if the Prozac isn't working anymore.... I am just so depressed and have been for quite awhile now, weeks, maybe a couple of months. Or is just that this situation is just too depressing for anything to work?

How long have you been on that dose? I have been on the same dose for about 7 or 8 years. I know when he is really bad I feel like I need to be on the dose I was on originally which is double the dose I am on now. I am always trying to avoid going back up to the original dose I was on but if I ever get as depressed as I was back then I wouldn't hesitate. Our situation will not change until we lose the one we love and a lot of fear goes along with that as well. There is no easy solution to our problems but I would check with the doctor to see about getting your dosage adjusted.......hugs

For a while I was on citalopram (Celexa) and when that didn't seem to be doing the job the doctor wanted to add a second antidepressant, Wellbutrin,

so, I would certainly check with your doctor to see if some adjustment could relieve some of the suffering....

there probably is no such thing as not having negative feelings about all this but if there is help, you more than deserve it....

Too long for depression to go on like that. You need a boost in meds.
