I have noticed that Rollie is having more and more trouble associating sounds with sights, for example:
He used to look for me and call my name, I would answer and he could follow the sound of my voice to where I was. NOW, he doesn't call my name, he just says, "Hello?" and unless I am right beside him and can touch him he cannot figure out where my voice is coming from, I have to go to him.
This is now extending to dressing, "Lift your foot" so I can dress him and he just can't seem to make his body do it. I have to lift his foot, slip it into the pant leg.

It has been a year this month since Ron stopped saying my name.
It will be a year October when he stopped saying anything. His last word was "yes".
There are times when you think someone has pressed the fast forward button on this disease.
here is an example- he just said to me, " I think I'll go to the doctor....but when I do that..... the thing turns around." I have no idea what that is supposed to mean. Also, when he does talk he does it in a very low voice so it makes it even harder to understand him. And he rarely even tries to talk, just sits and stares. We went out for my daughter's BD for dinner and he did not say one word on the way there or at the restaurant or on the way home.
damn disease, I can't talk anymore" he too doesn't know where I am unless he can see me, can't connect the sound of my voice with where it is coming from. it is also kind of like Dyslexia, things are all opposite, backwards.....up is down, in is out, before is after and so on. When we are with people he talks so little now because he knows he makes no sense....so actually he just seems like a quiet person rather than someone with Alz.
