Jim still sometimes realizes he needs to pee or poop, but doesn't know how to pull down the Depends and use the bathroom. After all the years of unzipping his pants, pulling "it" out and peeing, Depends makes it very confusing.
He will sometimes go in the walk-in shower and pee and that's OK, I can clean it, but he tends to pee down the front of his pants because he has forgotten how to hold it to pee.
Take care.
PS: Deb, at least he knows it's used for something other than peeing. lol
If you notice signs of a bm get him to the toilet. That worked for a couple months. Then I actually found it easier if he just went in the Depends. I would walk him to a chair or the stool if I could get him to sit there... pull down the Depends before he sits ( have a paper towel on the folding chair).. then deal with the fall out. On loose messes I have had to cut the Depends off so as not to smear it all down his legs.
The reason I use a folding chair by a desk outside the bathroom he uses is - the bathroom is small and I cannot get in front of him
when he is on the toilet.. just not enough room. I put pads and newspapers under the chair. I usually put him in the shower after a mess.. just easier to clean him there than trying to keep wiping.
The product is called ODO-BAN original. You can get it at Sam's or I ordered it from Amazon. It comes in a big white jug , plus a spray bottle. You dilute the stuff for a spray. I am still using the first jug I got last summer. I have spray bottles every where... and have given it to people. If you send me your email address I will
send you a link from Amazon so you can see what it looks like. The make other types for other purposes.. animal, septic etc.
I love the stuff.. and it really does the job.
So sorry you have entered this extremely unpleasant stage.
If Ron has a really nasty loose mess our Dr suggested giving him some Imodium to firm it up. Food wise.. bananas, cheese create firmer stools. We go one extreme to the other... loose as a goose for a few days, then bound up for a week.
I just hope he doesn't decide to start handing you "presents" or decorating with it... UGH... I still have nightmares.

Hmmm I don't think that copied as a link..maybe
Oh by the way..all of you ladies have such good looking guys. It was nice to see pics of them and hear your stories. I often think if the great times my mom and I had. She was always my BEST friend. She was even the maid of honor at my wedding. I love her dearly and I miss the way she was...there are some days I have the hardest time just dealing with the fact that I will never have my mom back. How does everyone cope??? I just can't stop crying some days.....
As quick as I would get one side fastened... he was pulling them apart.
Others may not have such an involved dance partner.. and he may not even do that now. It was hilarious moment....
I use them for Mum and in the morning I just leave her in bed and rip away, I used to just roll her from side to side to get them off her but now she is just learning to lift her bottom up so I can pull them out.
Some even have a sticky thing on them so you can roll them up so stuff doesnt get everywhere and just chuck in a plastic bag.
They are called Tena Pants. with the sticky tab at the back.
Depend also have pull ups. Both just tear down at the sides and are very comfy.I think you can get them on line too. Google them.
I was thinking that it might be time for a comode in the room, I have one in the bedroom and one with wheels in the bathroom for Mum. I would be lost without them. Good luck ladies, I think you are all wonderful..... :)
My husband will not sit on the toilet anymore. Like you say.. just goes whenever. I do not think he knows what it is either. Last Fall one day he got in it and ate it.
I hope you can talk mom into Depends soon. They do make life easier.
I still get a chuckel out of some of the things you wrote last year when it all started for you.
Ken has been on Depends for a year also. It started because of the wetting at night. I still put in on the stool durning the day a couple of times and in the morning just in case I get lucky and he will do the big number. ( my lucky day) then just before bed. He was doing pretty good and staying dry through the night but, this last two weeks I have had to change the bed at least twice a night. I caught him the other night taking it out and going. He hasn't done that in a while.
I have been much luckier them most of you all when it comes to the "poop patrol" Ken has had some loose but my battel come when being constapated. I'm sure because of what he will eat.
One night Imy daughter was watching Ken for me , I get a text. that Ken had messed his pants , this is the kid that couldn't handel changing her own kids messy pants without gagging. I hurry and start to head home and I get another text from my sister. My daughter had called for back up. ( Ken stays with more than anybody.) Don''t rush! No mess Ken only farted !!
Ron's nurse suggested for constipation.. adding a teaspoon of
MIRALAX to his food or a drink every day.
