If there is not enough material for a book... how about a booklet ?

Back when I was overwhelmed by everything... I could tackle a short read.. but often ignored a long book. THEN I got sick and tired of everything and and anything to do with Alz.

Maybe we could have children or grandchildren write about their feelings seeing Dad (Mom or Grandpa, Grandma) in this condition. I know my grandson (18) feels that both his grandparents (his grandma on his mother's side and grandpa on his dad's side) have deprived him of having them around. His other grandma died from Alzheimer's and his beloved grandpa, who took him fishing, to the batting cage, to the country to ride 4-wheelers and out in the canoe has really deprived him.

Our granddaughter has written many poems about her grandmother dealing with Alzheimer's. I have asked her to let me send them in to be published in the book.

Maybe I can expand on my chapter(s). I would really like to write a chapter on dealing with VA but am still dealing with them lol

Also, anything I have said is up for grabs for the book -- if there is indeed anything worth publishing.

I've only posted a few times, but don't mind if anything I wrote is used. I like Mary's idea about having others contribute, grandkids, etc. Just a thought, but maybe come up with some questions to put to us all, so the answers might be used.........

That's a good idea about getting other family members input, I'm going to do it.

Deb; Don't forget You don't have everyone yet. We have until the end of March. I have Ballys and have edited it and have Boxers opening paragraph. Also of course my own and anyone else who hasn't sent in yet. We also shall have pages at the end with resource info. Also since you are working on the INTRO I shall write a summation at the end! Do you have intro paragraphs for all the chapters you have? ....and we need to be sure we have a title from each author. If not please list who is out. In fact what would be good is list who has sent you their chapters thus far and we shall shout out a reminder to all that we really want the chapters by the end of March. We gave folks that time table. At the beginning of April you and I can review what we have and make sure we both know what we are looking at. I shall send you what I have at that time from whomever and you do the same ...then we will really know what we have. I think when everyone is in we shall end up fine. I will send out a Book update in a week and recap all for everyone , and for any newbies that want to join in. All caregivers welcome. Any little excerps we get from other family members (not caregivers) could certainly fit in the MISC. Chapter

Also, I had a similar experience to Jamr...I had/have trouble with concentrating for a long period of time, let's remember caregivers(US!) are often interrupted a lot in reading, and I got turned off reading about ALz, so many short and pithy isn't bad!

PS There is a series of my journals that are actually ny rough drafts of my Chapter...What Caregiver's Really Want...I will look up the dates and post them here and you can just print them out....
