I've away from a computer for the past few days and I will get up to speed on the posts BUT I just came back from a doctor's appointment. They are going to check my cortisol levels, etc. I told them that my 'peeps' at daily strength had been talking about stress for caregivers.

ANYWAY, the doctor said that the one most important thing that we MUST do. We have to figure out a way to do this, is to get 1 -2 nights of unintterupted sleep per week. I had told her about how Rollie is up several times a night to pee and I haven't a full nights sleep in a long time. She said, that this kind of sleeping apttern is BAD! and will lead to health problems. So, I just called all my kids and we are going to put our heads to gether and come up with a plan to get good sleep. But I just wanted to share that.

i/'m SO glad you're doing this!

Ron's doctor--the one that old me about the cortisol...also mentioned the sleep thing...that's a deal breaker....

perhaps what you all brainstorm will be a great addition to our book as I am sure it is a wide-spread problem.

Do you mean I shouldn't be checking the bottom of my mother's bed several times a night for the "gerbil like thing" that keeps attacking her? Wow! Serequel sometimes helps with that though.... I probably DO get to sleep through the night most nights. I'm ok.

You don't want to be around me if I don't get at least 4 nights of 9 hours. I don't care who you are..... I'll more than likely kill you if I don't.

He does take sleep meds, LOL! It's just that I am too aware of every movement he makes and depends won't help because he would fuss about hem and that wakes me up.

What would he do if you tried sleeping in another room? Would that work. I spent half my married life on the the couch do to my husband's snoring issues.

Pam, he tracks me, he literally hunts me down and finds me. It's incredible- I mean he can't wipe his own ass but can still track me down! The doctor says that is the soldier/PTSD doing that. I think that Dibbie's post 'Dr Appt' is a good idea and I will work with my kids and come to my mom's (she's only an hour drive away). Because I think that even if I am in another part of the room I won't really be able to relax.

I have been there Deborah. My mom would wake up at least 2 to 3 times at night. It was a nightmare. I would find poop and pea everywhere. I was stressed out! My husband complaining about it was just as bad.
He should sleep in a separate room. You need to try to see if he can adjust to sleeping alone. You poor baby!
