Wow! What an experience, he is just so out of it, I mean he is just not in our world anymore. I am not sure if it is the residual morphine but he has no clue about anything. His balance is off and I cannot trust him alone for 2 seconds so he are using restraints like they did in the hospital to keep him in his favorite chair. I hate to do it but he will not sit down, he just won't and he is really unsteady on his feet. He isn't complaining about anything, just kind of pulls at the straps and wiggles. His speech is much worse I can hardly make out even a single word. Maybe this will change I don't know yet.

Oh and he is pulling down his depends to pee, including waking in the night, getting up and peeing on me while I was sleeping. That was a nice thing to wake up to at 5 this morning.

OMG, Deborah. How awful! I really don't think it is going to get better. Can you hang on just a little bit longer? You are almost done with this horrible journey.

Deb I am so very sorry. Is he on hospice now? Is he on liquid morphine? Please know you are in my thoughts daily and my prayers nightly. Hang in there and as hard and as difficult as it is, please try to take care of you......love you, Jeanmarie

my nurse friend told me how to restrain him in his chair, use a big bed sheet and wrap around his waist tying the ends in the back of the chair, so his hands and feet are free, he can eat and drink himself, etc but now I don't worry about him walking around and falling, so that was helpful

I just left a message for the hospice nurse

So I have talked to a few professionals now and they seem to think his fidgeting is due to not enough pain and he is not able to express this verbally so I have a call into his doctor to discuss it......

I have literally sitting next to him and nit doing anything but watching Tv and surfing a bit, the house is a wreck! I am awaiting my kids to come home from school so that I can make a sandwich etc. They will be home in an hour. I have my grandson here and he is helping the little he can.

I feel so much for you. It has not gotten to that point around here, so I don't know all that you are going through, but I do know that everything is not going well there. I hope that you can get some additional help. As stated above, surely Hospice should be able to help.
My prayers go out to you and your husband.

Call your hospice people today - get them out now. I don't think
you can continue at home like this. Is there any way you can at least sleep somewhere else ? Couch ?

I have called hospice, the VA his social worker everyone and said, I nedd help asap so they are working on it Yea, my son just came home!!!!! woo hoo

Deb, please talk w/ the Hospice people about what they can do on an emergency basis for you..now and if this keeps up...he may need a residential hospice or they may be=need to provide more in-home services....Don't, please let yourself get dragged to the bottom of the pit...it won't help Rollie....ask LOUDLY!

I really don't know what to say....my heart aches for you. This is really bad and has spiralled down so quickly. Hospice has to help you.... this is too much for anyone to deal with alone...especially when you have children still at home. It really does sound like he now needs residential care. May God help you, I am so sorry for what you are going through.
