I think any noted change in behavior is another step down.
In the weeks before he broke his hip, it would be9:30 or 10 before he was ready for breakfast. He also ate less and less. He used to always enjoy going for coffee and for months at the end wouldn't even finish a half cup in the morning. Hard to watch the decline right before your eyes.
It is so hard to watch them go, so slowly. I hate going to the home, because I see her so sad all the time! She never smiles anymore. I hate to go and I also hate to leave her at night, because I don't know if I will see her again the next day!

I can get him to drink an occasional lemonade, but he hardly ever drinks water. He is extremely thin right now. He has to have help with everything now, however, he can still go to the bathroom on his own.
