My neighbor takes care of his mother who was just recently diagnosed
with Alzheimer's. He decided to go way for two days and has asked
a few of the neighbors to check in on her while he's gone. Of course
we have all been checking in with her but we are finding out for our
selves she shouldn't be left alone at any time. She has had many falls
in the last few months which worry us but we also found out this man is
a hoarder and the apartment is unsafe for his mother. This man is the
type person that thinks he know's every thing and I'm sure won't listen
to us if we express our concerns to him about leaving her. We feel so
sorry for this woman and he has manipulated all of us into caring for
her while he is gone. We are all uncomfortable being responsible for
her and we don't know how to deal with this man. Is there someone
we should report our concerns too about this situation? Any advice
would be appreciated. Thank you.

She can't help herself anymore and can't make the decision to get the help she needs so unless "someone" steps up and ensures her best interests are looked after, her circumstances will keep deteriorating.
