- DISTRACTION!!!! This is a big one for me. I do my best to distract my brain from thinking about anything in particular. Movies, books, puzzles (word or jigsaw), journaling, playing games online (anything that could take my mind off of what's bugging me).
-GET OUT OF THE HOUSE. Take a walk, or do some sort of activity to use your physical self (as another means of distraction). I have a membership to the YMCA and go swimming a lot.
Ultimately, distraction seems to work best for me. Sometimes I try relaxation response (lay down in a calm atmosphere, focus on each body part specifically for a minute starting from your toes and moving your way up through your feet, legs, belly, chest, back, arms, neck, head, then focus on your breathing).
