Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I woke up, did my recovery work which includes prayer, reading, writing, and trying to help other alcoholics. I then addressed my financial status, got some food, and my sponsee called. We had a good talk, he struggles trying to "figure out" the details of recovery, he wants to know it all as if he were the God. He is missing the fact that if he were the God, he wouldn't need a God, like step two suggests.
After that, the day was nice and peaceful, I watched movies, and didn't have to experience stress on the inside from demands from the outside. I've really begun to resent demands, people with self-interested demands are really hurting my opinion of them with their own self-prescribed actions, and it was nice to not have to interact or witness that for a while.
I am really missing meetings, not being able to go to them because I am not very secure in how the Coronavirus will affect me if I leave the house. On top of there being a Coronavirus, the reporting on the Coronavirus being equally insecure and not trustworthy, also is making me resentful and irritated.
When I go to meetings, the world changes. I cannot explain it other than going to a meeting everyday allows me to focus on a reality that isn't so worldly or insecure. Being around people who are serious about developing spiritually is a nice gift, and it does build a fantastic security that makes me know the future is nothing to fear.
What was your day like yesterday?
